ITIL qualifications are available at four levels with each certificate carrying a number of credits towards the advanced level qualifications. A minimum of 22 credits are required to achieve the ITIL Expert level qualification and credits are also awarded for qualifications held from previous versions of ITIL. The four levels of qualifications are as follows:

ITIL Foundation Certification Courses
The ITIL Foundation certification enables an understanding of the terminology used within ITIL; focusing on foundating knowledge with regard to ITIL support and service delivery sets as well as generic ITIL philosphy and background. The Foundation's certification is a prerequisite for the Intermediate and Expert certification in IT Service Management.
ITIL Lifecycle Modules Courses
ITIL Lifecycle stream consists of five (5) individual qualifications or modules, each based on one of the ITIL Service Lifecycle phases. The Lifecycle modules will expose individuals to essential aspects of Management, Marketing, Operations and Organization Management useful to appreciate the concerns of business counterparts within a service management context.
ITIL Service Capability Modules Courses
The ITIL Capability stream consist of four individual qualifications, which focus on a series of clustered process activities, their execution and use throughout specific phases of the ITIL Service Lifecycle. Each cluster contains groupings of processes within ITIL IT Service Management, intended to offer candidates a balanced knowledge of ITIL practices, which have directed interaction and dependencies in their daily use.
ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle Certification Courses
The ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC) qualification is a capstone qualification. It is the final required module which a candidate must take prior to achieving ITIL Expert Level.
In taking MALC following units of earlier ITIL qualifications which span the full ITIL Service Lifecycle, a successful ITIL Expert candidate will not only hold a well rounded knowledge of ITIL, but they will also gain skills competencies in the following areas:

- Management of Strategic Change
- Risk Management
- Managerial Functions
- Understanding Organizational Challenges
- Lifecycle Project Assessment
